Reconciliation
Sacramental Reconciliation is the external reality of the love and forgiveness of God through sign, symbol and prayer. Celebrating this ritual is the constant reminder of God's presence in our lives. In the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we partake in the mercy of God. Healing of sins is given through the Ministry of the Church, and we are reconciled to God and to one another.
Reconciliation is celebrated Saturdays at 3:00pm (which is one hour before Mass), 30 minutes prior to all weekday Masses, and anytime by appointment with the parish priest. Communal Reconciliation Services are held during Advent and Lent (see Parish Calendar for specifics). Second graders baptized in the faith receive the Sacrament for the first time prior to their receiving the Eucharist. Parents accept responsibility of preparing their children for this Sacrament, while school and PSR teachers assist in this preparation. Children are encouraged to ask questions and deepen their appreciation of the gift of the Sacrament.
